Camerata's Krishna Raman performs in The Camp

, making its premiere at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center’s Aratani Theatre in Los Angeles’ historic Little Tokyo district features one of Camerata’s Singers, Krishna Raman.

Opening on February 22, and inspired by true events,  tells the moving story of the Shimono family, Japanese Americans forcibly removed from their suburban home in Southern California during World War II. As the family struggles to survive the emotional and physical toll of their wrongful imprisonment, this poignant, new opera illuminates the remarkable strength of familial bonds and the power of collective resistance in the face of injustice.   Raman says, “ I’m proud and honored to be part of this amazing production and I hope members of the Camerata will be able to experience it with me.”
