| The
Camerata Singers of Long Beach invites applications and nominations for
the position of Artistic Director. This select 50-voice
choral group has a long history of providing outstanding choral music
including the annual Long Beach Bach Festival to local and regional communities,
as well as several European concert tours.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's
degree
- Minimum
of 5 years of professional choral conducting experience\
- Experience
working with volunteer and professional singers
- Experience
hiring paid orchestras (either directly or through a contractor)
- Proven
track record and strong interest in performing Bach works
- Proven
track record and interest in performing a wide range of choral music
- Experience
working with donors
- Strong
organizational skills
Timeframe:
We expect to have auditions of finalists in August 2009 with the new Artistic
Director beginning work with the group in the Fall of 2009.

and Nominations:
Applications should include a cover letter, resume, copies of 3 recent
concert programs, and list of references to include the following: a superior,
a concert master or orchestra contractor, a choir member, a section leader
if applicable, and a donor. Review of resumes will begin July 1 and conclude
August 1. Semi-finalists will be invited for personal interviews in August.
